The defendant engaged in a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor stated, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were settling down and request they to consume candy "rapidly".

She told the court the man had engaged in this activity with the boys "for many years", and children had previously fallen ill the following morning.

She said the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the minors being "overexcited from fun", until his family member had worries in recently.

The legal counsel stated items including baby oil, Vaseline and medical needles were found, and his stepson contacted the law enforcement about his suspicions.

She said the man proceeded to play the "sweet game" with six youngsters that time - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.

"Authorities" had not gone out by that stage," she added.

The police watchdog, the investigative body, earlier informed that it was investigating Leicestershire Police's handling of the situation.

She said the man then conducted the "treat game" in a room of five youngsters.
